inddiag

Below is a demonstration of the features of the inddiag function

Contents

clear; close all; clc;

Syntax

[ind]=inddiag(A);

Description

Returns the indices of the diagonal elements of A. If A is not a 2D array an error is return. If size(A,1)~=size(A,2) the function still returns the valid indices for when i=j in terms of A_ij.

Examples

[ind]=inddiag(rand(1,1))
ind =

     1

[ind]=inddiag(rand(2,2))
ind =

     1
     4

[ind]=inddiag(rand(5,5))
ind =

     1
     7
    13
    19
    25

[ind]=inddiag(rand(5,3))
ind =

     1
     5
     9

[ind]=inddiag(rand(3,5))
ind =

     1
     5
     9
